Outdoor Summer Camp for Ages 6–11 | Crozet, VA

Hidden Valley Forest School offers a nature-based, play-focused summer camp for children ages 6–11. Our small-group camps blend outdoor exploration, active play, and hands-on learning in a safe, engaging environment rooted in forest school philosophy.

At this time, no additional spots are available for any camp weeks. Families are welcome to join our waitlist in the event that a space becomes available.

Program Details

  • Ages: 6–11

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday

  • Camp Hours: 9:00 AM–2:00 PM

  • Optional Extended Pick-Up: 3:00 PM ($10 per child/day)

  • Tuition: $250 per week

  • Group Size: Maximum of 12 campers per week

What Summer Camp at HVFS Looks Like

Children spend their days immersed in nature—exploring the woods, hiking to the creek, building forts, playing active outdoor games, and engaging in child-led, hands-on experiences that build confidence and independence.

Hidden Valley Forest School follows a forest school approach, emphasizing:

  • Play-based, child-led learning

  • Social connection and collaboration

  • Resilience, creativity, and joyful exploration

Our small group size allows educators to truly know each child while fostering a strong sense of community among campers.

  • Week 3: July 20–24 — FULL

  • Week 4: July 27–31 — FULL

Enrollment & Fit Process (When Spots Are Available)

At Hidden Valley Forest School, we value thoughtful enrollment and want to ensure our program is a good fit for each child and family.

  1. Complete the Summer Camp Interest & Readiness Form
    This helps us understand your child and determine program fit.

  2. Enrollment Confirmation
    Families will be contacted if a space becomes available.

  3. Secure Your Spot
    If offered a spot, a full deposit is due the same day to confirm enrollment. Spots are not held without payment.

  4. Complete Enrollment Forms
    All forms and invoices are completed through our administrative platform, Brightwheel.

Licensing & Health Requirements

Hidden Valley Forest School is a licensed, nature-based microschool in Crozet, VA. All required documentation—including a School Entrance Health Form completed by a physician—must be submitted before a child may attend. All forms are completed securely online through Brightwheel.
