Summer Camp 2027 at Hidden Valley Forest School

Nature-Based Outdoor Summer Camp | Crozet, VA

Summer at Hidden Valley Forest School is all about slowing down, playing hard, and making lasting memories outdoors.

Our camps have become a cherished summer tradition for many local families, with campers returning year after year to reconnect with friends, explore the woods, and enjoy the simple joys of childhood. In fact, one returning camper recently told us our summer camp is "the best camp ever!" We couldn't ask for a better compliment.

We are proud to offer children something increasingly rare: a place where they can spend their days outdoors, relax, play freely, build friendships, and simply enjoy being kids.

Because so many families return each year, our camps tend to fill quickly with returning campers before enrollment opens to the public. We encourage interested families to inquire early to avoid disappointment.

Most of our camp day is spent outdoors exploring our beautiful 9-acre campus. Children are outside in nearly all weather conditions, moving indoors only during inclement weather. What Camp Looks Like

Every day is filled with opportunities for children to play, explore, and create their own adventures in nature.

Camp activities include:

  • Nature play

  • Creek exploration

  • Woodland hikes

  • Fort building

  • Active outdoor games

  • Team challenges

  • Imaginative play

  • Water play on hot days

  • A daily popsicle to cool off after our morning adventures

  • Plenty of free outdoor play with friends

Rather than filling every minute with scheduled activities, we intentionally leave room for children to follow their curiosity, strengthen friendships, and enjoy the freedom that comes with an outdoor childhood.

Whether they're climbing trees, splashing in the creek, building forts, inventing games with friends, or enjoying a popsicle in the shade, campers experience the kind of carefree summer that many adults remember from their own childhoods.

Our small group size allows educators to truly know each child while fostering a warm, welcoming community where friendships grow naturally and every camper feels like they belong.

Enrollment

Enrollment is completed on a first-come, first-served basis.

To enroll:

  1. Emailinfo@hiddenvalleyforestschool.com to ask questions and inquire about current availability. Please complete this step first so we can answer your questions, confirm that space is available, and guide you through the enrollment process.

  2. Complete our Summer Camp Registration Form.

  3. If a spot is available, we'll send you an enrollment invitation. A full, non-refundable deposit is due upon enrollment to reserve your child's space. Enrollment is not complete until payment has been received.

  4. Complete all required enrollment forms through Brightwheel. All required forms, including the Virginia School Entrance Health Form completed by a physician, must be submitted no later than one week before your child's first day of camp. Children without all required forms on file will not be admitted to camp until the required documentation has been received.

Because our camps are intentionally small and many families return each year, we recommend inquiring as early as possible.
