A One-Day Outdoor Adventure for Ages 8–12

Forest Fun Day is our dedicated weekly program for older children (ages 8–12), designed especially with homeschooling families in mind. Held each Friday, this full-day experience offers kids the chance to reconnect with nature, build friendships, and enjoy the outdoors in a fun and meaningful way.

This isn’t just a day to be outside—it’s a day to adventure, create, and grow.

Each Forest Fun Day includes a mix of:

• Active outdoor games and team challenges

• Nature-themed arts and crafts

• Hikes to local creeks and scenic spots on our 9-acre property and Crozet Trails

• Themed activities and exploration tied to the seasons and local ecology

• Hands-on learning woven into outdoor fun

• Twice-yearly overnight camping experiences right here at HVFS

Our goal is to provide older children with a space where they can move their bodies, use their creativity, deepen their connection to the natural world, and simply enjoy being a kid in nature.

Enrollment is now open—join us for a Friday filled with laughter, learning, and the kind of memories only the forest can offer. Spots are limited!
